ultimatefares complaint
I'm glad I came across this thread because i experienced the same shady scenario. I attempted to book a flight on June 5th 2008 and paid for the ticket on-line @cheapflightsales.com (also opted to get $14 travel insurance as part of the same transaction). Later that day I get an e-mail indicating my credit card was not accepted. I checked my bank account to verify and saw there was a record of the $14 debit for the travel insurance only.

When I called the cust serv # (definitely offshore, which is OK BUT it sounded like the agent was working from a bloody phonebooth because I could hear cars in the background etc) they seemed confused. Anyway, I was told the Bank rejected the transaction and I'd be charged a $24 processing fee regardless (I had funds over 20x the cost of the ticket in that account). I spoke with my bank and they showed no record of the 'attempted transaction' and since the the ticket & travel insurance were purchased within the same transaction, why would one work and not the other??? I had

So, from reading the other posts, it appears that this charge may mysteriously appear on my credit card. I will be watching closely and have already notified the Bank. Watch out people, these guys are scam artists!!! Stick to the known travel sites!!!

Call your credit card company and dispute all charges. File a chargeback.
